Fifty Years of Beauty: Howland Capital Celebrates Art in Bloom’s Golden Anniversary

Art in Bloom turned 50 this spring—and we were honored to be part of the celebration.

For half a century, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts has invited some of New England’s talented garden clubs, designers, and floral artists to transform masterpieces into living arrangements. It’s one of those rare events that feels both timeless and entirely fresh each year. Every flower, every stem, every arrangement tells a story.

This year, Howland Capital sponsored the Acton Garden Club’s interpretation of Standing Figure, an elegant sculpture from the MFA’s collection. Watching the garden club pair ancient artistry with the ephemeral beauty of contemporary florals reminded us of why events like this matter. They connect us to history, to craftsmanship, and to each other.

A special thanks to Lexi, Charlie, and our team members who attended and experienced the artistry firsthand. And our gratitude to the MFA for stewarding an institution and an annual tradition that continues to inspire curiosity and wonder across generations.

Here’s to 50 more years of bringing art and nature together.

SquashBusters isn’t just about squash. It’s about a student sitting down with a tutor and working through a challenging subject. It’s about young athletes building discipline, resilience, and the habit of showing up. It’s about pathways opening where they might not have existed before.
