Floral Art Meets History: Our Role in Art in Bloom

This spring, Howland Capital was proud to support Art in Bloom, the Museum of Fine Arts’ annual celebration of art and nature. This cherished event brings together the talents of New England garden clubs, professional designers, and museum floral volunteers, who craft intricate arrangements inspired by masterpieces from the MFA’s vast collection.

Our sponsorship this year highlighted an extraordinary artistic pairing. The Boston Junior League Garden Club created a stunning floral arrangement inspired by the iconic King Menkaura (Mycernius) and Queen sculpture from the Old Kingdom, Dynasty 4 of Ancient Egypt, dating back to 2490–2472 BCE. This piece offers a glimpse into history, showcasing the elegance and permanence of Egyptian artistry, beautifully interpreted through the ephemeral beauty of flowers.

By sponsoring this year’s event, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering cultural experiences that spark curiosity and engage the community.

We are honored to take part in initiatives like Art in Bloom that celebrate both legacy and innovation. It’s our privilege to support the MFA in its mission to connect people to world-class art and to be a part of an event that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
