No Tricks, Just Treats This Halloween

All Hallows’ Eve,” aka Halloween, is a celebration observed in many countries on the 31st of October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day. It begins the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

The words from Wikipedia above ring true during this season. Remembering the “faithful departed” whether they be friends, family, mentors, or otherwise seems particularly important this year.

We embraced “Halloween” by having a pumpkin carving contest this past Wednesday as part of our weekly staff Zoom meeting. The contest added levity and served to keep us connected as we continue to largely operate remotely. We depict some favorite pumpkins above, including the three winners.

In another recent light-hearted activity, the Howland Capital Team gathered at the Duxbury Beach Reservation last month to volunteer our time and effort as part of their annual beach cleanup. It was also a great setting to see each other and connect safely and comfortably

Hoping you and yours are safe and healthy, with no tricks, just treats. As ever, we appreciate your confidence in Howland Capital.
