Client Operations Specialist

Job Title:  Client Operations Specialist Department:  Administration
Classification:  Non-Exempt Employment Type:  FTE
Location:  Boston, MA Reports To:  Portfolio Administrator Manager

 

Summary

This position provides support to the Portfolio Administrator and Operation teams to process

transactions, maintain account data, monitor transfers, and other operational administrative duties.

Essential Functions

  • Work with a team of Portfolio Administrators and Operations professionals to provide
  • administrative support to meet client day-to-day service needs
  • Process cash and security related requests, pay bills and process gifts on behalf of clients
  • Process tax payments on behalf of clients
  • Process client maintenance updates such as address changes and account updates
  • Track client requests and maintain client data in CRM
  • Monitor cash positions and overdrafts
  • Assist with client-related requests, sorting and processing mail, meeting preparation, etc.
  • Provide backup to portfolio administrators

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office products is required (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Prior experience in any of the following services is required: Financial services or accounting firm

Other Responsibilities

  • Howland Capital will train the right candidate on all our software systems, however
  • experience with any of the following is a plus: Tamarac, Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Assist with special projects as directed
  • This role requires the ability to work with multiple system vendors
